Business Registration & Incorporation

Business Registration & Incorporation across Canada

Registration is where every Canadian business begins and where most new owners lose their first two weeks. There are two levels (federal and provincial or territorial), four common structures, a name search that differs by province, a CRA Business Number with up to four program accounts, workers’ compensation and, in most cities, a municipal licence.

SZ Business Solution turns that into one scope. Tell us what you want to do and where. We recommend the structure, prepare and file every document, obtain every number, and hand you one organized file with everything your bank, your accountant and your landlord will ask for.

FAQ

Business Registration & Incorporation: questions we hear most

Short answers. For anything specific to your situation, book a consultation and we will walk through it.

Can you register my business if I am not in Canada yet?

In most provinces, yes. Many jurisdictions have no director residency requirement and filings are electronic. We complete the registration remotely and coordinate the bank account for your arrival. Your immigration consultant advises on your status; we do not provide immigration advice.

What is the difference between registering and incorporating?

Registering a business name creates a sole proprietorship or partnership that is legally you. Incorporating creates a separate legal entity with limited liability and its own tax return. We explain the trade-offs for your situation before you choose.

Do you charge government fees separately?

Yes. Our scope lists our service fee and the government filing fees separately so you can see exactly what goes where.

How long does registration take?

Most provincial and federal incorporations are completed within one to two business days once the name is cleared. CRA accounts and workers’ compensation registration follow in the first week or two.
